Description
A Regency style Rosewood tea caddy of sarcophagus form, constructed with highly figured veneer and featuring a stepped, plateaued lid. The box is raised on four compressed bun feet and displays a diamond-shaped boxwood escutcheon to the front. The sides are fitted with brass lion-mask drop handles. The interior contains a central circular aperture lined with red paper, flanked by two removable rectangular lidded compartments for tea storage. The interior lids are fitted with brass strips. The dark grain patterns of the rosewood are prominent across all exterior surfaces. A brass lock mechanism is present, though the key is absent.

Condition report:
The caddy displays visible surface scratches and scuffing to the lid and side panels. There are minor chips to the veneer at the corners and edges. The interior red paper lining shows age-related wear and staining. The brass hardware shows a natural patina. No key is present.
