Description
A Silver Varaflame butane pocket lighter featuring a vertical pinstripe textured finish and a blank rectangular cartouche for engraving. The lighter is constructed with a hinged lid mechanism and a side-mounted flame adjustment wheel. The interior lid of the original hardshell case is printed in black with a coat of arms and text reading BY APPOINTMENT TO H.R.H. THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH SUPPLIERS OF ELECTRICAL SHAVERS RONSON PRODUCTS LTD. followed by RONSON VARAFLAME. The lot is accompanied by a printed instruction booklet titled RONSON Liquid Butane Lighter with Butron Multi-Fill Fueling, two paper Garantie certificates from RONSON PRODUCTS LIMITED, Leatherhead, Surrey, England, and a small red-handled cleaning brush in its translucent paper wrapper.

Condition report:
The lighter exhibits minor surface wear and small dents at the base (photo 1). The metal body shows fine scratches consistent with age and use. The internal velvet lining of the presentation case shows light compression marks where the lighter sits (photo 1). The printed ephemera and manual show minor yellowing and creasing to the edges (photo 1). Functionality is untested.
