Lot 57:
Description
A pair of souvenir miniature boxing gloves constructed from white synthetic material with matching white hanging laces. Each glove features a padded hand section and a lace-up palm design, finished with a white fabric label at the wrist embroidered with the brand name CONTENDER in blue capital letters followed by a registered trademark symbol. Both gloves are signed in reddish-brown ink to the front padding with the signature of John Conteh, the former WBC light-heavyweight champion. The signatures are legible, written in a cursive script. The items are designed for display or as a hanging automotive accessory.
Length: 8.9 cm
Total length: 22.8 cm.
Condition report:
The gloves show minor signs of age and storage wear. There is light creasing to the white synthetic surface on both gloves, most notably around the thumb and wrist sections (photo 1). A few small, dark specks are visible on the white material (photo 3). The ink of the signatures shows slight fading but remains clearly legible (photo 4). The hanging laces are intact, although there is minor fraying to the material at the ends (photo 2).
