Description
A Silver jewellery set comprising a collar necklace and matching drop earrings featuring intricate filigree work. The necklace is constructed from thirteen hinged rectangular panels, each decorated with scrolled wirework motifs and finished with a fringe of hanging metal spheres. The matching earrings are designed for pierced ears and repeat the scrolled filigree and spherical fringe design. The necklace is secured by a fine cable chain with a simple hook-and-loop closure. An internal paper tag is inscribed with the word Vintage and the characters Ster. The set is presented in a red velvet display case with a white satin lining to the lid and a yellow velvet interior base.
Condition report:
The metal shows surface oxidation and tarnish, particularly visible in the recessed areas of the filigree work and on the hanging spheres (photo 2). The red velvet display case shows light wear and dust accumulation to the exterior (photo 4). The white satin interior lining of the lid is slightly yellowed (photo 1). No other visible faults.
