Lot 137:
Description
A silver Luftwaffe cap badge constructed in the form of a droop-tail eagle in flight, clutching a mobile swastika in its talons. The eagle is depicted with wings swept back and its head facing the viewer’s right, a design characteristic of the branch of service. The front surface features struck detailing to the plumage and talons. The reverse is hollow-struck and retains two integrated brass-coloured attachment splines, one of which is bent across the centre. The badge shows a greyish patina and surface oxidation consistent with age. There are no maker’s marks, codes, or manufacturer logos visible on the reverse of the item.
